The sign said don't walk but I'm pretty sure it was lying
Today at lunch I was sitting in the "employee lounge" [re: Staples] having lunch with Rohan and Eric and found myself explaining in the most general terms possible what had been bothering me the past week. Suddenly I realized as I was talking how ridiculous everything about everything is and a huge weight was lifted. I love everyone. But not in that special way.
I've been working in the kitchen for Gone to the Dogs camp with Eric and Rohan all week. Marlboro is overrun by upper middle class white middle aged women and a few gay men and whole ass ton of DOGS that BARK all the fucking TIME. This job though is totally sweet. Though it's been 7 hour days for the past 5 days it's sweet to be working with Gene and Sue and John and Richie and the rest of the same kitchen crew from the school year. And we get all kinds of free food. The power went out today for an hour or so and there were a lot of partially cooked pizzas to get rid of at the end of the day so Eric, Rohizzle and myself got as many pizzas as we could carry off with us. This I have to say is the best job I've ever worked.
Also, I am as tan as a californian hootchie mama. Now that the weather's gotten nice again I'm outside all the time that I can.
I've seen a lot of movies, most of them bad. No, kidding. Rohan and I saw Star Wars a few days ago and last night I went with him and Megan to see Hitchhiker's Guide. I've watched a few movies with Nate, such as Mean Girls (with Lindsey Lohan, who, incidentally, wants to marry me she just doesn't know it yet) and Dark City. Ashley is taking her sweet time getting up here but that's totally fine and I'll see her when I see her. Tessa's coming back from 'Nam this weekend. Katie Soule and Jeff and Jim are having a potluck tomorrow night (I'm making curry!). Luke and Amanda came to visit the night before last. The summer is flying by.
The highlight of the past week though was definitely seeing Amanda (of the Charlan variety) on Monday. After getting up at 7am and working 7 hours in the kitchen I drove 2.5 hours to Burlington, VT, met up with Amanda, and went to a MINDLESS SELF INDULGENCE concert. It was amaaaaaaaaaazing. The lead singer of that band? Totally nuts. No, seriously. They put on an incredible live show. When the concert was over I drove back here and got in at 2am to wake up at 7 the next morning to work another 7 hour day. It was awesome. And by awesome I mean fucking retarded but it was completely worth it.
I'm in love with rock and roll. BTW.
